Design: Genomic DNA was isolated and checked for integrity and lack of degradation by agarose gel electrophoresis, and the concentration was measured by a non-UV method. The DNA was prepared using the standard PacBio library preparation protocol as recommended by the manufacturer. For the 10 kb library preparation, a size-selection was performed to select insert fragments of this length.

PB-St2 is considered a biocontrol strain in agriculture. The genome sequence of PB-St2 not only revealed the true capacity to produce a multitude of secondary metabolites and exoenzymes but also provides the foundation for further understanding of the lifestyle, the antagonistic properties and the respective mode of actions of this strain, and for the biosafety assessment when introduced into agricultural environments.
